Welcome back everyone to My Gay DVD Reviews!
This is my second review in what will hopefully will become a daily ritual. I have chosen the romantic story: Mulligans just out on DVD. (90 min - Not Rated) . I just got this movie in the mail the other day and I immediately popped it into the DVD player. And I am not afraid to admit that I really liked this movie.
It was somewhat predictable and I wish the ending would have been a little happier but it certainly depicted a very believable coming-out story. The acting is good (I love Thea Gill) and the male leads are very attractive (always a plus for a gay-themed movie).
Synopsis:
This is the story of a perfect family with daddy, mommy, daughter back at home expecting the return of the prodigal son, Tyler (played by Derek Baynham), who will be visiting for the summer and is bringing his college buddy, Chase (Charlie David - who also wrote the book). Chase is still in the closet and appears to have a soft spot for his jock friend. Then all hell breaks loose when Chase is seduced by Tyler's dad, Nathan (Dan Payne). But then again who wouldn't? He is HOT HOT HOT!!!! Think The Graduate but with a very HOT gay twist...
Nathan and his wife Stacey (Thea Gill) are a happy couple but there seems to be some underlying tension between them (that would be pretty hard for anyone to miss). We find the beautiful mommy ogling some barely clothed man-boy swimming with his friends at the lake. If I didn't know better, I'd swear that a porno segment was about to happen. Hmmm, is the mommy not getting enough satisfaction as home? The plot thickens... Suddenly Nathan and Chase are left alone for the weekend while the rest are off the grandma's ... and nature finally takes its course.
With so much eye candy (I really need to make an appointment with my dentist tomorrow), you will not be disappointed by Mulligans. We could have used a little more skin action (after all Charlie David shows off a LOT more in Dante's Cove) but I still highly recommend this movie for your Gay DVD Collection.
